To help smooth the transitions ahead for next year, current fifth- and eighth-grade students and their families are invited to preview nights to get to know their new schools.

At Preview Night, incoming students to Eden Prairie Schools’ Central Middle School (CMS) and Eden Prairie High School (EPHS) will tour their new campuses, learn about their school’s culture and atmosphere, and meet site leaders, including the principals.

In the spring, students and families will be invited back to campus again to learn more about courses and schedules.

EP Schools has asked families to mark their calendars with the following dates and keep an eye out for more information coming soon from their new schools.

    • CMS Preview Night: 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19.
    • EPHS Preview Night: 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 9.

Jaysen Anderson, the new Eden Prairie High School principal, said he is excited for his first Preview Night at the high school. “This is a great opportunity to get our newest families into our building and give them a sense of what high school is actually going to be like,” he said.

He said that being at the school in person will make it easier for students and their families to envision themselves as part of the community and feel connected to their future campus.

“It’s one thing to think about that important transition and another thing to see our building, see our Performing Arts Center, and walk our Commons and hallways,” Anderson said, but being at the school “makes the next step more real and helps both students and families feel prepared. And I hope that our new families and students will come and say hi to me, their new principal.”

More information about student life, academics, activities, staff, schedules, and more can be found on the CMS website and the EPHS website.
