Voter praises Kotyza-Witthuhn’s environmental and clean energy record

Letter to EditorBy Letter to EditorOctober 23, 2024Updated:October 23, 20241 Min Read

I am proud to be voting for Rep. Carlie Kotyza-Witthuhn in the upcoming election.

I remember when Carlie came to the 2018 caucus as an engaging candidate who would work for all residents of Eden Prairie. She still has the same enthusiasm today, now with six years of legislative experience.

As a former chair of one of the two Eden Prairie watershed districts, I especially appreciate her commitment to improving the environment. While Carlie supports the extension of the Environmental Trust Fund amendment this November, her opponent does not. The funding for this amendment comes from the Minnesota State Lottery and is used for critical projects statewide, like addressing invasive aquatic species and pollinator research.

Carlie has worked hard on legislation that would reduce the amount of PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, sometimes known as “forever chemicals”) in the environment so all Minnesota citizens have access to clean water.

Additionally, she has championed investments in solar energy and consumer rebates for purchasing efficient electrical appliances to save on household costs and carbon usage.

I’m asking you to vote with me to return Carlie to the Minnesota House of Representatives.

    Perry Forster, Eden Prairie
