Eden Prairie’s only home cross-country meet of the season will take place this Saturday, and head coach Courtney Brandon said it’s must-attend event for the entire family.

“It is unlike any cross country meet you have attended before,” Brandon said. “We will have 30 teams competing (over 2,000 athletes) under the lights in the evening, with music, several food trucks, and lots of fun.”

The Metro Invite “Under the Lights” takes place this Saturday, Sept. 14, starting at 6 p.m. at Flying Cloud Fields in Eden Prairie. It will be hosted by Eden Prairie Cross Country (EPXC) and TC Running Company.

In addition to competitive school races, the event will feature an Elementary School Fun Run open to kids in grade 5 and younger. The top 120 finishers in this race will receive glow-in-the-dark glasses. Kids who want to run in this race do not need to pre-register – they can just show up at the starting line and run.
