The filing period for Eden Prairie’s municipal and school district elections on Nov. 5 began Tuesday, July 30, and runs through Tuesday, Aug. 13.

Residents interested in running for office must submit their paperwork within this timeframe.

For the City of Eden Prairie, two at-large City Council seats, each with a four-year term, are up for election. Incumbents PG Narayanan and Lisa Toomey have filed for reelection.

Prospective candidates must submit their packets, including a $5 filing fee, to the city clerk’s office at City Center, 8080 Mitchell Road, during business hours, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The filing period ends at 5 p.m. on Aug. 13.

In the Eden Prairie School Board elections, three seats, each with a four-year term, are available. The current officeholders are Kim Ross, Charles “C.J.” Strehl, and Dennis Stubbs.

Candidates must file an “Affidavit of Candidacy” with the school district clerk at the Eden Prairie Schools Administrative Service Center, 8100 School Road.

For the school board seats, filing hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays from July 30 to Aug. 12, and 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Aug. 13. The filing fee is $2.

Candidates for the school board will receive a packet with information on campaign regulations and voter engagement.

The deadline to withdraw from both races is 5 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 15.

For additional information, contact City Clerk David Teigland at 952-949-8414 or Laurie Hemstock, the EP Schools’ elections clerk, at 952-975-7072.
