No. 2 seed Forest Lake defeated Eden Prairie 5-1 in the Class AAAA quarterfinals of the state softball tournament Wednesday at Caswell Park in Mankato.

Forest Lake took an early 3-0 lead in the first inning.

In the top of the fifth, with runners on first and second, Eden Prairie senior outfielder Ayana Lombardy doubled to left field, scoring junior outfielder Carli Archuleta to make it 3-1. Archambault also made several outstanding catches in left field.

Eden Prairie will face Edina in the consolation bracket Thursday at 9 a.m. in Mankato.
