The EPHS Peer Insights class, which pairs general education and special education students together, donated $600 to Feed My Starving Children as a spring service project. Submitted photo by Feed My Starving Children

Some of the Eden Prairie High School Peer Insights students, along with their teacher Liza Anderson, presented Feed My Starving Children with a check for $600 from their spring service project.

The class sold paper they created from recycled materials and embedded with wildflower seeds. Submitted photo by Liza Anderson

The spring service project involved creating and selling plantable seed paper. The class asked teachers for their recycling bins of old papers, shredded the papers, and blended them to make paper pulp. They then added wildflower seeds, flower petals, and leaves for decoration and packaged them in earth-friendly packaging to sell during lunch hours to students and staff.

The Peer Insights class pairs general education students with special education students, providing an opportunity to come together in an inclusive atmosphere.
