    EPLN OBITUARIES

Diane Simons, a pillar of love and strength, departed this world on May 13, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and compassion that will forever resonate within the hearts of those who knew her.

Diane Simons (second from left) is surrounded by her children (from left): Amy, Dean, and Beth. Diane was a longtime Eden Prairie resident who was living in Minnetonka at the time of her passing.

Born on June 19, 1942, Diane’s journey through life was marked by an unwavering devotion to her family and an innate ability to spread warmth wherever she went. She was a devoted wife to Jim Simons, who preceded her in passing. She was also a sister to Carol and Bill, who continue to carry her memory with them.

Di, as she was affectionately known, was the epitome of maternal love. As a mother of three – Beth, Dean, and Amy – she poured her heart and soul into nurturing and guiding them, imparting wisdom, and providing unwavering support through life’s trials and triumphs. Her children were not just her offspring but the very essence of her being, and she dedicated every moment to ensuring their happiness and well-being. Di also had a profound and deep love for Russ, Tracy, and Paul.

Beyond her role as a devoted mother, Di embraced the joys of grandmotherhood with open arms. To her seven grandchildren – Laura (Christian), Ryan (Whitney), Kevin, Zach (Lauren), Olivia (Teddy), Tyler, and Holly – she was a constant source of love, laughter, and gentle guidance. Whether sharing stories, singing and playing instruments, or offering a comforting hug, her presence brought immeasurable joy to each of their lives.

In her later years, Di was blessed to witness the blossoming of yet another generation as a great-grandmother to three cherished souls (Sara, Hayleigh, and Aubrey). Her wisdom and love extended effortlessly to these youngest members of the family, leaving an indelible mark on their tender hearts.

More than just a familial bond, Diane was the glue that held her family and friends together. Her kindness knew no bounds, and her genuine nature touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Whether through a listening ear, a comforting embrace, or a simple act of kindness, she had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel valued and loved.

Though Diane may have departed this world too soon, her spirit lives on in the countless lives she touched. Her legacy of unwavering faith, love, compassion, unyielding strength, and positivity will continue to inspire and uplift those who carry her memory in their hearts.

In honoring Diane’s memory, let us celebrate the profound impact she had on our lives and strive to emulate the grace and kindness that defined her existence. Though she may no longer walk beside us, her spirit will forever illuminate our paths with love.

Rest in peace, dear Diane. Your presence will be deeply missed, but your love will live on eternally in the hearts of all who knew you. Your family loves you to the moon.

A private celebration of life will take place at a later date.
