Under chilly, windy conditions at Aerie Stadium on Thursday night against Buffalo, the Eden Prairie High School girls lacrosse team delivered a sizzling offensive performance, while the boys team faced a tough battle.

The girls squad dominated Buffalo, securing a 17-3 victory that improved their season record to 2-1.

Leading the charge were seniors Kaci Kotschevar-Call, Avery Wallace, and Josie Wallace, each contributing four goals. Freshman Kelsey Pottinger added three goals, and senior Elyza Gengler scored two.

The girls lacrosse team will play their next game at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 20, at Maple Grove.

The boys team, however, narrowly lost to Buffalo, 8-7.

The Bison led 6-3 at the half, but the Eagles tied it at 7 with 2:49 left in the game. Buffalo scored the winning goal with 12 seconds remaining in regulation.

Eden Prairie’s top scorers were senior captain Danny Burke, who netted five goals, and sophomore Oscar Berggren and senior Ben Reisdorf, who each scored once.

The boys lacrosse team’s record is also now 2-1. Their next game is against St. Michael-Albertville at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, at Aerie Stadium.
