A public hearing on $8.4 million worth of improvements to a gravel section of Dell Road will be held Tuesday, Jan. 16, by the Eden Prairie City Council.

It’s one of two gravel roads remaining in Eden Prairie, and the council is expected to move ahead with road, trail, sewer, water, and storm drainage improvements to the road section in the city’s southwestern corner.

State-aid road funds would pay for about $4.4 million of the project, and $1.2 million would be assessed to neighboring property owners. The remaining $2.8 million would be paid by the city from its utility funds.

Also scheduled for a public hearing on Tuesday is the proposed construction of a two-story, 96,000-square-foot addition to an existing office/industrial/warehouse building at 7075 Flying Cloud Drive. The redevelopment project is proposed by Aldevron, a biotech company based in Fargo that is establishing a new plant in Eden Prairie.
