For Eden Prairie kindergartener Anya Iyer, 2024 is already a record year. That’s because she’s listed in the 2024 edition of the Kids World Records book as holding the longest tree pose in the age 4-6 category.

Anya held the yoga pose for 1 minute 38 seconds back in August 2023.

To document it, she needed to submit photo and video evidence to the Kids World Records website, which describes itself as a place for kids ages 4-16 “to explore their interests with unbridled enthusiasm and creativity, while working toward a concrete goal.”

The site also states, “We believe every kid has the power to be record-breaking,” and that’s certainly true in the Iyer household. The current holder of the record for longest tree pose in the age 7-9 category is Anya’s sister, Ava, who held the pose for 11 minutes in July 2022. (Ava also previously held the record for longest hair among girls aged 7-9.)

“It is very exciting that our newest, youngest little EP resident has made another kids world record,” commented the girls’ mom, Priya Iyer.
