In a hard-fought home game Friday night, the Eden Prairie boys hockey team and the No. 2-ranked Wayzata Trojans ended in a 2-2 tie.

Eden Prairie senior forward Dawson Miller netted his first varsity goal in the second period, putting the Eagles ahead 1-0. Wayzata responded with two third-period goals to lead 2-1. However, with 4:48 left in regulation, Eagles senior forward Cole Saterdalen scored, tying the game at 2-2 against the Trojans.

Both teams had scoring opportunities in overtime, but Eagles senior goalie Isaiah Paulnock continued his outstanding performance between the pipes. During the game, Paulnock stopped 44 of 46 shots on goal from the Trojans attackers.

Eden Prairie’s record is now 4-3-1, while Wayzata, having won its previous eight games, now stands at 8-0-1.
