Kirsten Marie Fragodt, 53, passed away on Oct. 21, 2023. A special celebration of life will be held Friday, Oct. 27, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Faith United Methodist Church, 801 4th Ave. NE, Waseca, Minnesota 56093. Interment will be at a later date in Benson, Minnesota. Memorials are preferred.

Kirsten was born in St. Paul and grew up in Minnetonka, Eden Prairie, and Long Grove, Illinois. She graduated from Eden Prairie High School in 1988. Kirsten initially attended St. Cloud State University before transferring to California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, California, where she was a writer and editor for the university newspaper, The Echo. Kirsten graduated with degrees in journalism and English with academic distinction.

Growing up, Kirsten was active in her Christian faith and was a skilled and enthusiastic artist, pianist, tennis player and cook. Kirsten enjoyed working with children and worked as a nanny in California to support herself during her university studies. Kirsten’s first job after finishing college was reviewing movie scripts under consideration for film production in Los Angeles.

Kirsten was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Gilman and Erma Fragodt, her maternal grandparents, Bernard and Marie Mooberry, and her mother, Kerry Fragodt. She is survived by her father, Gary Fragodt (BethAnn Combs); sister, Heather Case; brother, Jonathan Fragodt (Anja); nephews, Marco and Vincent Fragodt; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

We wish to express a special thank you to the entire staff of ICAN in Waseca, and especially to Megan Johanneck, Carey Root, and all the exceptional people who assisted and supported Kirsten during her illness.
