Sarah “June” Gilbert, age 86, of Eden Prairie, passed away peacefully on Aug. 19, 2023, from pancreatic cancer.

She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Gordon; her children Janelle Steinman (Peter) and Laurelle Clarke; two grandsons, Alexander Steinman and Andrew Steinman; sister Carol Royce of Concord, New Hampshire; brother William Willey of Minneapolis; several nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends.

June was born in Concord, New Hampshire, on June 12, 1937, and graduated from Concord High School. Due to her desire to travel, she became a flight attendant for United Airlines and was based out of Los Angeles. It was there she met the love of her life, Gordon. They moved to Minneapolis, where she became an account executive for Knox Reeves Advertising and eventually retired as human resource manager for Wilson Learning Company.

June was an active member of the Eden Prairie Lioness Club for over 40 years, a member of the Clipped Wings group, dinner club, bridge clubs, bocce ball league, golf leagues and many other activities.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 13600 Technology Drive Eden Prairie, on Friday, Sept. 8, at 1 p.m. with a visitation starting at noon. A luncheon will follow the service.

Memorials preferred to St. Andrew Lutheran Church or the Eden Prairie Lions Foundation PO Box 44364 Eden Prairie, MN 55344.
