PROP Food partners with LSS Financial to provide financial workshops

EPLN Staff ReportsBy EPLN Staff ReportsJuly 14, 20232 Mins Read

Rising costs, interest rate increases, and poor credit have put many people in a financial bind.

To address these challenges, PROP Food, in partnership with LSS Financial Counseling, is hosting no-cost financial support sessions at the Eden Prairie Library. These sessions offer practical financial guidance to Eden Prairie and Chanhassen residents.

“We are excited to announce that a recent partnership with LSS Financial enables PROP Food to offer a valuable service to the entire Eden Prairie and Chanhassen communities by providing no-cost financial support sessions open to all residents, not just PROP clients,” said PROP Executive Director Jenifer Loon. “During these tough economic times, having a few tips on how to manage your money and credit can help build confidence as you work toward your goal of financial security.”

The next financial workshop, “Building and Improving Your Credit,” will be from 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, at the Eden Prairie Library, 565 Prairie Center Drive.

Participants will discover how credit scores affect the terms of loans they receive, employment, housing and insurance rates. Attendees will find out the difference between good and poor credit, the components of a good credit score, how good credit makes things cost less, and how to establish or rebuild credit scores.

Residents of Eden Prairie and Chanhassen are encouraged to attend the workshop, and they also have the option to sign up for individual financial sessions to explore further ways to achieve financial security.

To register for the workshop or for more information, interested individuals can call 952-746-1853. Walk-ins are also welcome.

PROP Food and Services, a local organization supported by contributions from businesses, civic organizations, churches, schools, and individuals, is dedicated to making a positive impact in the community.

To learn more about becoming a PROP volunteer or a partner of PROP Food and Services, contact 952-937-9120 or visit www.propfood.org.
