TRAIL, a nonprofit which provides transportation to adults with developmental disabilities, will become part of Reach for Resources on June 16.

TRAIL (Transportation Resource to Aid Independent Living) began service in 1991. The organization provides highly subsidized and specialized transportation to individuals living independently and semi-independently in Eden Prairie, Bloomington, Edina, and Richfield. The Minnetonka-based Reach for Resources offers services to individuals throughout Minnesota, with the majority living in the seven-county metro area.

No disruption in TRAIL services is anticipated during the 60-day transition period.

Kate Bottiger, executive director of Reach for Resources, said of the acquisition in a press release, “We are excited to have TRAIL become part of Reach for Resources so we can continue the much-needed transportation service that was started decades ago. Individuals require transportation to access their community and social activities. This is a win-win for both organizations.”

The organization plans to expand TRAIL services to more individuals across other metro cities in the coming years. Michelle Veith, the longtime TRAIL president, said, “We are proud that TRAIL is now part of the Reach for Resources family, and we look forward to seeing more individuals benefit from our hard work and passion for TRAIL and its riders over the years.”

Riders can reach Jill, the TRAIL manager, at 612-401-6395 or office@ridetrail.org. Questions about the acquisition should be directed to Kate Bottiger at kbottiger@reachforresources.org.
