The City of Eden Prairie’s Yard Waste Drop-Off Site will open on Friday, April 28, for the season.
Located at 9811 Flying Cloud Drive south of Pioneer Trail, the site is free of charge for both Eden Prairie residents and businesses to use. Residents must bring either a driver’s license or utility bill with an Eden Prairie address. Landlords or business owners must bring a utility bill or business card with an Eden Prairie address.
Accepted materials at the site include spring and fall lawn rakings/thatch, grass clippings, leaves, landscaping plants and flowers, vegetative garden waste (only stalks and leaves, no food), tree branches, brush, logs, wood chips/mulch (clean), diseased trees, and straw and hay (no twine).
Residents must separate, debag, and unload their materials, and empty bags (plastic, paper, compostable, biodegradable, etc.) must be taken by users as there are no trash receptacles onsite.
The following materials are not accepted: mixed loads, pumpkins, apples, or other garden food, tree stumps, tree nuts, lumber, sod, soil, rocks, retaining wall blocks, erosion blankets, metal of any sort, and trash.
According to the city, dirt, rocks, and lumber dropped in the yard waste site can cause serious damage to the equipment. Any loads found containing prohibited material will be rejected, and users could be subject to fines, as well as denied future use of this site.
More information about the Yard Waste Drop-Off Site can be found on the city’s website.
