Community members have until midnight tonight, April 24, to submit their feedback on the future direction of Eden Prairie Schools.
Starting last fall, the district began school and community workshops, surveys, and focus groups to help it design its new strategic plan for the next five years. A community planning team and district leaders have now drafted an updated 2023-28 strategic plan.
EP Schools is now inviting the community to complete a short online survey to help the planning team gauge support for and refine the plan, and ensure it meets the needs of EP Schools students, families, and the community.
The district also sent out informational flyers to the Eden Prairie community last week, and a video about the plan is available on its website.
The draft plan includes three key strategies the district believes will help it achieve its mission of inspiring each student every day:
- Personalized and authentic learning — inspire students to engage and achieve at high levels through authentic and personalized learning experiences.
- Well-being — nurture both physical and emotional well-being among all students and staff.
- Inclusion and belonging — strive to cultivate an inclusive learning environment that fosters a sense of belonging for each student in our diverse community.

EP Schools spokesman Dirk Tedmon said he hopes everyone in the community will weigh in to share their views.
“At the beginning of this process we promised to include community voice in the development of this survey, and to bring the plan back for feedback as it was created,” he said.
“We are currently doing that and really would love for everyone to share their thoughts so that we can move forward in the best way possible to meet our mission of inspiring each student every day, through our next strategic plan.”
Tedmon said if community members are unable to respond to the survey by midnight on April 24, they are welcome to submit it afterward, but the district will incorporate the feedback it receives by tonight in core planning meetings later this week.
