    Email subscriber contest winners named

Staff ReportsBy Staff ReportsApril 17, 2023Updated:April 17, 20232 Mins Read
Winners have been named in EPLN's recent contest to enroll new subscribers.

Kathleen Porta won a $100 Visa gift card in the recent Eden Prairie Local News contest, in which readers were encouraged to get friends and neighbors to sign up for EPLN’s free email newsletter.

Sandy Olson won a $50 gift card and Smriti Srivastava won a $25 gift card as the contest’s second- and third-place winners, respectively.

The contest was open to existing subscribers between March 15 and March 31 as a campaign by EPLN to expand its base of readership and support. Thank you to everyone who participated!

The nonprofit news organization was founded in 2020 to provide important local news and information after the for-profit community newspaper of 46 years, the Eden Prairie News, was shut down by its owner.

EPLN has created a digital website (www.eplocalnews.org), organized a governing board of directors led by Chair Nancy Tyra Lukens and CEO/Publisher Steve Schewe, employed a paid editor in Stuart Sudak, and is slowly growing its paid staff with financial support from readers, businesses, foundations, and others.

Though our spring 2023 referral contest is over, EPLN welcomes other readers to sign up to receive either a daily or weekly email newsletter summarizing local stories that are continually being produced to keep residents informed about what’s going on in Eden Prairie.
