    Angelinde Rogers

EPLN Staff ReportsBy EPLN Staff ReportsApril 14, 2023Updated:April 20, 20233 Mins Read

Angelinde Sophie “Angie” (Pass) Rogers, age 93, of Eden Prairie, passed away April 8, 2023, from Alzheimer’s disease exacerbated by complications from a hip fracture and finally succumbed to COVID-19.

Angie was the second child born to Peter and Rose (Williams) Pass on March 29, 1930. On June 6, 1951, Angie married Norbert “Bert” Rogers at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Chaska. Angie and Bert spent many years on the Rogers’ farm in Eden Prairie, where they raised their beloved son Mike. They worked together to run a dairy farm along with pigs and chickens, from which Angie started her own egg route. A neighbor stated once that Bert was a lucky man as he was the only one who had a wife that could drive a tractor while baling hay.

Above all, Angie cherished her Catholic faith and the lessons it taught her — to serve her community, family, friends, and strangers. Angie and Bert would pray the rosary every night and on long car rides. Angie supported Bert as a charter member of the Eden Prairie Volunteer Fire Department and did the same when her son Mike joined as well. She could always be counted on to help where it was needed most. Angie loved her close and extended family, her flower gardens, her adored dog Jack, raising Monarch butterflies, and jigsaw puzzles. She made many lovely quilts over the years and was an avid Jeopardy watcher.

Angie is preceded in death by her parents; husband Bert; sister Bernice Strobel; brothers William “Billy”; John “Johnny” and Arthur “Artie” Pass; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter “Sonny” Raser, Cletus Link, Denis Simons, Francis Strobel, Mary Lu Rogers, John and Patricia Rogers and Elizabeth and Dave Davidson.

Angie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Andrea; granddaughters Stephanie (Andy) Rannells and Samantha Rogers; great-granddaughters Eleanor and Charlotte Rannells; special “daughter” Claudia Charpentier from Costa Rica; sisters Rose Raser, Helen Link, and Anne Simons; sisters-in-law Aggie Pass, Cathy Pass, and Betty Pass; brother-in-law Norman Rogers; and numerous nieces and nephews, especially Ione Davidson, Roseann Buckley, and Julie Welch.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 28, at St. Hubert Catholic Church, 8201 Main St., Chanhassen. Visitation will be at Huber Funeral Home, 16394 Glory Lane, Eden Prairie, from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, April 27, and one hour prior to church service. A Celebration of Life luncheon will follow at Chanhassen American Legion. Family interment at Eden Prairie Cemetery.

The family would like to like to thank the wonderful caregivers at Minnesota Masonic Home and Park Nicollet Hospice for their support of Angie and the family. Memorials preferred to Masonic Home and Park Nicollet Hospice.

Arrangements are being made by Huber Funeral & Cremation Service Eden Prairie. Phone: 952-949-4970.
