‘Favorite teacher’ Cwodzinski has her vote

By Letter to EditorOctober 26, 2022Updated:October 26, 20221 Min Read

Most people can name their favorite teacher from years ago and recall some of the inspiring things they learned from that beloved educator. Few people, however, can say they get to vote for their favorite teacher, whose second career after 30+ years of teaching in Eden Prairie is to serve in the Minnesota Senate.

I count myself lucky to have learned about American history and politics from Steve Cwodzinski when I was in 10th grade at EPHS. His enthusiasm for teaching and his love of the subjects he taught were absolutely transformative for many of his students.

What I love about Sen. Cwodzinski’s role now, representing the people of SD49, is that everyone gets the benefit of that same enthusiasm, love and commitment he brought to his teaching. He works hard to pass legislation that benefits his constituents and speaks with respect about his colleagues. He has a deep knowledge about what it is to be an educator and a boundless energy for service. As a former student, it is an absolute privilege to vote for Cwod, my favorite teacher of all time.
