    By Gillian HolteJuly 6, 2022Updated:July 6, 20222 Mins Read

Eden Prairie residents spent the warm Independence Day holiday celebrating at Round Lake Park. The city’s 4th of July Hometown Celebration was filled with food trucks and music from the Brian Kinney Band and Free & Easy.

    • For some attending the city’s 4th of July Hometown Celebration on Monday, Round Lake offered a cool respite from the sweltering heat.
    • The city was expecting 8,000-10,000 to attend Monday’s hometown celebration. The city will use drone photos to determine an estimate of Monday’s crowd.
    • During Monday’s celebration and Sunday night’s Sparklefest, people could fill up their reusable water bottles at the city’s new hydration station.
    • Sixteen food trucks were open for business on Monday, selling a variety of tasty treats.
    • Eden Prairie Mayor Ron Case and City Council members Lisa Toomey and PG Narayanan welcome the crowd.
    • A couple dances to the music near the Round Lake Park stage. Taking the stage first was the Brian Kinney Band. The Free & Easy Band followed after a welcome from Mayor Case and the City Council.
    • Brian Kinney, the lead singer and front man of the Brian Kinney Band, not only can belt out a tune, but he’s a good jumper, too.
    • Free & Easy singer Jeff Skidmore entertains the crowd.
    • Free & Easy bills itself as Minnesota’s premiere stage band. It plays retro and current hits from such artists as Stevie Wonder, Justin Bieber, Pitbull, and Prince.
