Baker Road closure: June 17 to mid-July

    By Brad CanhamJune 15, 2021Updated:June 15, 20211 Min Read

Starting Thursday, June 17 road work will close Baker Road for up to five weeks, according to a Hennepin County transportation department update.

Note: Local access will be maintained for businesses and residents.  People should expect local access routes to change as crews work in the area.

Hennepin County, plans to resurface Baker Road (County Road 60) between Martin Drive and the bridge under I-494. The county will also restripe the road to match the existing configuration on Baker Road between Pinnacle Drive and St. Andrews Drive.

In addition to resurfacing the pavement, pedestrian curb ramps that meet Americans with Disabilities Act standards will be added throughout the corridor. In May 2021, crews began work to upgrade pedestrian ramps along the corridor.

    Detours and access

All through-traffic drivers should use the marked detours, to include:

    • Highway 212
    • Shady Oak Road (County Road 61)
    • Excelsior Boulevard (County Road 3)

A pdf map of the Baker Road resurfacing project is available here.

A detailed report on the Baker Road project was presented to the Eden Prairie City Council on March 2, 2021 and may be viewed here as a pdf file.
