    Saturday, Highway 212 north of Shady Oak Road to close, reopen Thursday

    SWLRT bridge work over Hwy 212 will join new bridge over Shady Oak Road.

    The installation of light rail transit bridge beams over Highway 212 north of Shady Oak Road is slated to begin late this Saturday night, June 12. The Southwest Light Rail Transit (SWLRT) project anticipates that Thursday , June 17.  

    This section of Hwy 212 will soon be spanned by a light rail bridge that will be connected to a newly completed bridge over Shady Oak Road in Eden Prairie’s Golden Triangle. Image by Jeff Strate

    Hwy 212 specifics

    All westbound lanes of Highway 212 between Highway 62 and Shady Oak Road will close Saturday.

    Eastbound lanes Highway 212 will be closed on Saturday, June 12, mid-afternoon.

    Ramp closings

    The on-ramp to eastbound Highway 212 from Valley View Road will be closed from June 12, mid-afternoon through Thursday, June 17.

    The on-ramp to eastbound Highway 212 from Shady Oak Road is closed for construction staging. It will reopen shortly after the bridge beams are in place.

    Recommended detours during the Highway 212 closure north of Shady Oak Road.

    The Highway 212 westbound off-ramp to Shady Oak Road remains closed through the 2021 construction season.
