Eden Prairie Players seek directors to bring radio plays to life

Brad CanhamBy Brad CanhamMarch 3, 2021Updated:March 3, 20211 Min Read
Eden Prairie Players seeks to evoke the feeling of old time radio stories, within a modern-day Zoom format.

Remember listening to radio shows of the past?

You would sit around the kitchen table with your parents or grandparents, following the twists and turns of an exciting plot line. According to David Durkee and Jen Cordes of the Eden Prairie Players, their goal is to bring back those nostalgic feelings with a modern-day twist.

Eden Prairie Players is seeking directors for the first three radio plays of a planned series, which will be rehearsed and recorded over Zoom. There will be an initial group read-through of all three plays, followed by three to four days of rehearsal and recording sessions. Directors will work with production staff for sound effects and musical accompaniment.

We are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion and encourage people with disabilities and members of the BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities to apply.

Interested directors: Please contact our Producer Liz Michaelson at liz@uncommongatherings.com with a résumé by March 8. EP Players will send out copies of the scripts and schedule interviews with selected applicants over Zoom the following week. See you on the “radio.”
